On January 1, 2016 at 1am, Steinbach RCMP received a report of a snowmobile that was stolen in Mitchell, Manitoba. Police were advised that a silver 1998 Polaris XC600 was taken from a residence and was last seen last seen headed north around Clearspring Road.

On the same day at 1:30am Steinbach RCMP responded to an alarm at SAR in Steinbach. On arrival it was determined that a suspect had entered the storage compound in what appeared to be an attempted theft. Police reviewed video surveillance and observed a suspect walking around inside the fenced compound. Police investigation revealed that the suspect attended SAR on a snowmobile, believed to be the same Polaris XC600 that was reported stolen a short time earlier.

Steinbach RCMP are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect in the compound and or any information in regards to the stolen snowmobile.
