On March 27, 2016, at about 10:35am, Ashern RCMP, along with with local EMS and Fire Departments, were dispatched to a single vehicle collision on Highway 6. The collision occurred about two km South of Grahamdale in the Rural Municipality of Grahamdale.

Police investigation determined that a northbound truck with six occupants lost control and rolled, ejecting four people.

RCMP report that the 25-year-old driver was located at the scene of the accident. One of the passengers, a 30-year-old male passenger from Fairford, Manitoba, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other four passengers were transported by STARS and ambulance to hospital and remain there in stable condition.

An RCMP Forensic Collision Reconstruction is assisting with the ongoing investigation. Police believe that alcohol is a factor in this collision.
