On May 15, 2016, just before 7pm, officers from the Roblin RCMP received a report of a collision involving a car and an open-cab style farm tractor on Provincial Highway 83, near Road 139 N, in Roblin, MB.
Initial police investigation has revealed that both vehicles were traveling north on Highway 83 when the car collided with the back of the tractor causing it to rollover.
RCMP report that the driver of the tractor, a 63-year-old Roblin man, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver and lone occupant of the car, a 48-year-old woman from Russell, was taken to hospital with minor injuries and was released the same evening.
Contributing factors have not been confirmed at this time. A traffic analyst is assisting the ongoing investigation.
