On the evening of June 12, 2016, members of the Berens River RCMP Detachment responded to a call of a male in medical distress.
Members attended the community’s nursing station and located a deceased 18-year-old adult male from Berens River. The death is being investigated as a homicide.
RCMP investigators from Major and Serious Crimes as well as Forensic Identification Services are in Berens River to assist in this ongoing investigation.
Police say that a male youth has been detained in connection to the death and is presently in custody.
