The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has laid charges pursuant to the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) and the Customs Act against a U.S. male, following an incident at the Sprague border crossing.

On June 13, 2016, a U.S. driver attempted to enter Canada at the Sprague border crossing where it is alleged CBSA officers found another man hiding in the back of the vehicle.

Barry Roger Holmes has been charged with failing to appear for examination pursuant to the IRPA and the Customs Act, and wilful evasion of compliance pursuant to the Customs Act.

The driver is currently under investigation.
