On July 9, 2009, at approximately 6:30 PM, Stonewall RCMP members were called to a motor vehicle collision on PTH 67 just east of Stonewall.

A  blue four-door Chevrolet Cavalier collided head-on with a semi-trailer. The driver of the semi was not injured. The driver and only occupant of the Cavalier was seriously injured in the collision and had to be extricated from the vehicle. He was taken to hospital in critical condition where his condition was upgraded to stable.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation with the assistance of an RCMP Collision Reconstructionist.

The name of the injured driver is not being released at this time. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the collision.
