On July 15, 2009 around 5:30 am Portage la Prairie RCMP responded to a complaint of a vehicle on fire in the 600 block of 6th St NW.
When police arrived, Portage Fire Department were already on scene and had extinguished the fire. There was no one in the vehicle at the time, and no injuries reported. The vehicle, a pick up truck, was destroyed. No other property was damaged by the fire.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined, however police believe the fire to be suspicious.
