On August 24, 2009 Steinbach RCMP responded to a female who had been assaulted on Barkman Avenue in Steinbach.
It was learned that the victim had been walking along a path between 10:15pm and 11:00pm, when she was confronted by three males. When the victim attempted to get by the suspects she was struck in the face and knocked to the ground. While on the ground she was kicked and punched and at one point one of the suspects assaulted her in a sexual nature. The suspects ran off after being spooked by the lights of a passing car. The victim was able to flee and called for help. The victim suffered bruising and soreness to her face and body, she did not require medical attention.
The following description was provided of the suspects.
1. A slim 20-25 year old male with a darker complexion wearing a white hooded sweatshirt.
2. A stockier 20-25 year old male wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and speaks with a German accent.
3. A stockier 20-25 year old male wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt.
