On December 12, 2008 at 11:53 p.m., Headingley RCMP responded to a single snowmobile collision that occurred a half mile south of St. Eustache in the Rural Municipality of Cartier.

A 46-year-old Winnipeg man was pronounced dead at the scene.  He was traveling north in a ditch beside a rural grid road with three other friends when he hit an approach to a field and lost control of his snowmobile.

Alcohol and speed are believed to be factors.

His name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
