On September 4, 2009, shortly after 10:30pm, Stonewall RCMP Detachment responded to a three-vehicle collision, with a confirmed fatality, at Inkster Boulevard and Prairie Dog Trail, between Klimpke and Sturgeon Road.

Assisting at the scene was RCMP Headingley Rural, RCMP Headingley Traffic, RCMP Teulon Detachment and RCMP East St. Paul Detachment, Winnipeg Fire and Ambulance as well as the Rosser Fire Department.

Preliminary investigation suggest that a GMC pick up truck driven by the deceased was going westbound on Inkster and rear ended a Toyota Corolla that had turned from Prairie Dog Trail onto westbound Inkster. The truck then veered into the oncoming lane where it struck an on-coming semi.

The identity of the deceased driver of the pick up truck as yet to be confirmed but RCMP believe the driver to be a 32-year-old male from Winnipeg. The driver of the Toyota, a 21-year-old male from Winnipeg, was taken to the Grace Hospital and treated for minor injuries. The driver of the semi, a 52-year-old male from Stonewall, was unhurt.

What lead to this collision remains under investigation. If anyone witnessed this collision, they are asked to call the RCMP Stonewall Detachment at (204) 467-5015.
