On September 15, 2009, at approximately  11:22am,  Brandon RCMP as well as emergency services from Shilo and Manitoba Hydro, were called to an acreage on Conrad road near Shilo in the RM of Cornwallis.

Investigation has determined that a 43 year-old male from Brandon, was injured after the conveyor belt he was operating to unload shingles, came into direct contact with a high voltage overhead power line.

The male, who was an employee of a Brandon building materials supplier, was provided with immediate first aid at the scene and was subsequently transported to Brandon General hospital where he is being treated for electrical burns and injuries sustained in the incident. 

RCMP and Manitoba Work Place Safety continue to investigate the incident.
