Construction at Steinbach’s pump house at KR Barkman Park is progressing steadily.

The outdoor underground piping is completed and indoor piping changes have begun. Work on electrical and communication lines has also started.

Still to be installed are two large pumps and a chlorine scrubber set to arrive in December. The chlorine scrubber is a new safety feature designed to automatically detect and neutralize any emergency chlorine leaks or spills.

The entire project, at a cost of $1.3 million, should be completed by the end of January 2010.
