On October 5, 2009, Portage la Prairie RCMP responded to a report of a school fire in the R.M of Portage la Prairie.
On arrival, it was determined that the bus was not on fire, but had a leaking radiator hose, causing the engine to steam.
The scene was attended by Portage la Prairie RCMP, Emergency Services and EMS.
There were no injuries and the children were transferred to another bus without incident.
