New Steinbach Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Larry Fedoruk.
Following a two year vacancy, the Steinbach Chamber of Commerce has hired a new Executive Director.
Filling the shoes of this vital role for the Chamber is Larry Fedoruk. As a former CEO and General Manager with international experience in the manufacturing industry, Fedoruk brings with him over 20 years of experience to the Chamber and Steinbach’s business network. As Executive Director, Larry will also be managing the Chamber’s Eastman Immigrant Services program which serves newcomers and new immigrants in the southeast.
According to Chamber President Paul Neustaedter, Larry will be a huge asset to the Steinbach Chamber. “The Board of Directors along with myself are very excited to have such a dynamic and determined individual join our team at the Chamber”. Neustaedter continues to say that “The wealth of knowledge and direct business expertise that Larry brings to our organization, combined with his dedication and drive for excellence will prove invaluable to the Chamber, and in turn, Steinbach’s business community as we move forward”.
Although originally from southeast Manitoba, Fedoruk has spent his career in Winnipeg as CEO and General Manager of Wilson Auto Electric Ltd. (prior to its sale) as well as in Los Angeles as a consultant in the industry before moving back to the southeast. His experience on the international stage (including work in the U.S., Europe, China, India, Mexico, etc.) with different businesses and cultures will prove important to the growth and enhancement in the local business sector. Larry indicates that he is looking forward to his new role; “I am very excited to be working with the Steinbach Chamber and having the opportunity to get to know the members in the business community, learning to understand what their needs are, and what they would like to see the Chamber working towards”. Larry continues “So that we (the Chamber) may continue to strive towards the betterment of the business community and the community as a whole”.
With an extensive resume and key accomplishments under his belt, Larry comes with vast experience in management leadership, project management, and communications, and is also no stranger to challenges. Larry tells us that he “views challenges as opportunities” and focuses on the importance of “being able to ‘bridge the gap’” as well as “the importance of adaptability in order to result in working relationships that are beneficial for all”. Neustaedter concludes “A full-time Executive Director will ensure a healthy Immigration program for our region and great leadership within the Chamber”.
