Federal Agriculture Minister Gerry Ritz today announced the appointment of Carl Spencer to the Board of Directors of Farm Credit Canada (FCC).

“I am pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Spencer to the FCC Board,” said Minister Ritz. “With more than four decades in farming as well as experience in feeder cattle financing, farm organizations and public service, Mr. Spencer will no doubt help farmers remain profitable and competitive in today’s market.”

Since 1959, FCC has grown to be Canada’s largest provider of business and financial services to farm businesses. Through specialized and personalized business and financial solutions delivered out of 100 offices throughout mostly rural Canada, FCC works to meet the changing needs of the sector and to ensure its prosperity.

FCC reports to Canada’s Parliament through the Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food.

The appointment is for a three-year term and is effective immediately. A biographical note for the appointee is attached.
