At approximately 10pm, on December 9, 2009, St. Pierre RCMP members were dispatched to a house fire on Sood Road in the RM of Ritchot near St. Adolphe.

Upon arrival the larger, two storey home  was found to be engulfed in flames. The local fire department battled the
blaze with assistance from the Niverville and RM of Tache Fire Departments. The residents had safely left the house upon discovering the fire.

The Office of the Fire Commissioner attended and the investigation into the cause of the fire is continuing. The building was a total loss.
