At 12:35am, on March 14, 2010, members from the Crystal City and Manitou RCMP detachments were called to the scene of a single vehicle collision 1 kilometre west of La Riviere on Highway 3.

When members attended, they found that a red 2009 Honda Civic had failed to negotiate a curve on the highway and had subsequently rolled into the ditch.

The driver and five passengers of the vehicle, with ages ranging between 16 to 18, were all treated by paramedics on scene. Two were then transported to Lorne Memorial Hospital in Swan Lake while four more were transported to Boundary Trails Hospital in Winkler for further treatment. The extent of injury is not known at this time but were described as non-life-threatening for all involved.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation but it is believed that speed and poor visibility due to fog were contributing factors.
