On June 6, 2010, shortly before 10am, RCMP Grand Rapids Detachment along with local EMS was dispatched by passing motorists to a collision on Highway 6 about 15 kilometres north of Grand Rapids.

Upon arrival, the lone driver was found deceased in the vehicle.

The deceased has been tentatively identified as a 46-year-old man from Lake Manitoba FN.

RCMP preliminary investigation indicates that the lone driver was heading south on Highway 6 when he drifted onto the southbound shoulder, over corrected, crossed the highway into the northbound ditch and rolled the vehicle several times.

Speed is considered a contributing factor. The driver was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the collision.

An autopsy is scheduled to be performed at the Health Sciences Centre tomorrow.

The investigation continues.
