On June 28, 2010, at 3:30pm, a civilian contacted the RCMP Powerview Detachment advising of human remains that were found along the south shore of Fort Alexander on the Winnipeg River.
 
RCMP members attended and retrieved the body.

At present, the body is unidentified and is being escorted to Winnipeg for an autopsy.
 
No other information is available until such time as an autopsy is performed.

An autopsy was conducted at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg today. The body found has been positively identified as 14-year-old Tyler Arkinson from the Sagkeeng First Nation. The cause of death has yet to be confirmed. 
 
Tyler Arkinson was last seen, in the early hours of Sunday, March 21, 2010 at a house party about 10 kilometers northwest of the Town of Powerview-Pine Falls on Highway 11 on the South Shore of the Winnipeg River.  It is believed that Tyler left the party on foot in the early hours of Sunday morning.  In the following days, massive search efforts on Sagkeeng F.N. lead by the RCMP Search and Rescue Team, search partners, Powerview RCMP Detachment, family members and local area volunteers failed to find Tyler Arkinson.
