An RCMP investigation into three alleged dog poisoning incidents near Shilo, has not lead to any solid leads or evidence that the animals were intentionally poisoned.

RCMP report that the incidents occurred somewhere around July 30, 2010, in the Spruce Woods community near Shilo.

The investigation which involved consultation with a local veterinarian clinic that examined and treated the animals, was unable to positively identify what may have caused the illness that resulted in the death of one dog and the illness of two others. Although the possibility remains that the dogs were poisoned, there was limited evidence to determine if any of the illnesses and death  were as a result of intentional poisonings or if the source of the illness was from a natural or environmental source.

At the present time the RCMP investigation is being concluded, however, should more information or evidence surface, the matter will be reopened and further investigated.

If anyone has any information about these incidents, or any other unsolved crime, they are asked to call the Brandon RCMP 726-7519 or  Manitoba Crime Stoppers 1-800-222-8477
