On September 3, 2010, at about 3am, Virden RCMP, local EMS and the RM of Wallace Fire Department were dispatched to the scene of a single vehicle rollover.

The accident occurred approximately 5 km South of Virden, in the RM of Wallace.

Investigation at the scene revealed that a 2009 CMC Canyon had been traveling on a gravel grid road which ended in a “T” intersection. The driver did not make the turn and the vehicle went off the road and overturned several times.

The driver of the vehicle, a 23-year-old male from Virden, was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle. He has been released from custody and is to appear in Virden Provincial Court on October 15, 2010.

The three adult passengers, a woman and two men, as well as the driver, were treated in hospital for minor injuries.

No other vehicles or persons were reported involved in the collision. Speed and alcohol are factors in the collision.

Police continue to investigate.
