On September 8, 2010, at about 9:45am, Oakbank RCMP and local emergency services were dispatched to the scene of a two vehicle motor vehicle collision on Highway 15, approximately 2 kilometres west of Anola.
 
Investigation revealed that two vehicles, a 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier and a 2008 Honda Civic, had collided head-on at the location.
 
The driver of the Honda Civic, a 35-year-old man from La Broquerie, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
 
The driver of the Chevrolet Cavalier, a 52-year-old man from Winnipeg, was transported to hospital in critical condition.
 
The name of the deceased will not be released at this time pending notification of next of kin.
 
An RCMP  traffic Collision Analyst attended to assist with the investigation. The highway was closed for several hours in order to investigate the collision.
 
The cause of the collision is still under investigation. There were no other vehicles or persons reported to be involved in this incident.

Police continue to investigate.
