On October 2, 2010, at about 3:30pm, Boissevain RCMP as well as local Emergency Services and EMS were dispatched to the scene of a fatal two vehicle collision.

Investigation revealed that two pick-up trucks, a 1997 Ford and a 1994 Chevrolet, had collided at an uncontrolled intersection on a gravel grid road approximately 3 miles southeast of Boissevain, Manitoba.

The Ford pick-up truck left the roadway and rolled at least one time. The driver,a 60-year-old male from the Minnedosa area, was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. Seat belt use is considered to be a factor in this fatality.

The driver of the Chevrolet pick-up truck, a 67-year-old man from the Boissevain area was uninjured.

An RCMP Traffic Analyst attended to assist with the investigation. Road conditions and visibility were reported as good. Alcohol is not considered a factor.

There were no other vehicles or persons reported to be involved in this collision.

RCMP would like to remind motorists of the importance of seatbelt use, and to be vigilant when driving on rural roads, especially during the busy harvest season.

Police Continue to investigate.
