On October 3, 2010 at about 1pm, Virden RCMP as well as local Emergency Services and EMS were dispatched to the scene of a single vehicle rollover.

Investigation revealed that a 1995 Ford pick-up truck had been eastbound on a gravel grid road about 10km south east of Elkhorn,  when it lost control, going into the ditch and rolling over at least one time.

There were two persons in the truck at the time of the collision. A 16-year-old girl from the Teulon area, and a 22-year-old man from the RM of Wallace.

The 16-year-old girl was transported by ambulance to hospital with non life threatening injuries. The 22-year-old man was ejected from the vehicle, and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

An RCMP Traffic Collision Analyst attended to assist with the investigation. Speed and seat belt use are considered to be factors in this collision.

The name of the deceased has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

The driver has not been identified at this time and police continue to investigate.
