In the early morning hours of October 9, 2010, Steinbach RCMP responded to a report of a female who had been attacked in her garage on Barkman Avenue by an intruder armed with a knife.
Members attended and determined that a 21-year-old female resident of the home had returned from taking her dog for a walk and was attacked when she entered her garage.
The female was able to fight off the attacker and yell for help. The attacker then fled on foot.
The attacker was described as being Caucasian male, five feet ten inches tall with a skinny frame.
A police dog attended but was not able to track the suspect.
The victim suffered minor injuries to her hands as a result of the confrontation.
