Last night, the City of Steinbach’s new Council held their Inaugural Meeting at City Hall.
The Oath of Office was taken by Mayor Goertzen and all six councillors and Mayor Goertzen appointed Councillor Jac Siemens as Deputy Mayor.
Other appointments at the meeting included Councillor John Fehr to the Jake Epp Library Board, Councillor Earl Funk to the Seine Rat River Conservation District and Councillors Susan Penner and Michael Zwaagstra to the Steinbach Community Development Corporation (SCDC). City Manager, Jack Kehler, and Corporate Services Manager, Troy Warkentin were also re-appointed to the SCDC by resolution from Council.
Mayor Goertzen said he looks forward to seeing what this council will accomplish during the next four years.
