On October 31, 2010, at about 1:20pm, Wabowden RCMP were dispatched to a report of a male requiring medical help after his neck had been slashed.

Local EMS attended the scene and transported a 21-year-old male and 47-year-old female to Thompson General Hospital.

Investigation revealed that during an altercation at a party, a 23-year-old man attacked his 21-year-old brother and 47-year-old mother with a broken bottle. Both sustained serious lacerations to their arms and neck. All are from Wabowden, Manitoba.

A 23-year-old man has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault, one count of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and one count of breaching an undertaking.

Alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor in this incident and police continue to investigate.
