Matt Zimmerman & The Jasper County Line.
The Steinbach Arts Council has announced that Matt Zimmerman & The Jasper County Line will be performing at the Eastman Education Centre on November 19, 2010.
The Jasper County Line is a blues band that hails from Brandon Manitoba. Playing some of the greatest Blues and Classic Rock songs of all time is what they do best. The Jasper County Line has performed at “Summer in the City” in Steinbach, as well as “The Hanover Ag Fair” in Grunthal.
With Tim Hodge on Tenor Saxophone, Matt Zimmerman on Electric Guitar and Vocals, Ashley Au on Bass and James Rosso on Drums and Vocals, The Jasper County Line holds the groove. With all its members attending Brandon University as Music Majors, The Jasper County Line will put on a show you won’t soon forget!
On Friday, November 19th, The Jasper County Line will be taking you on a musical tour through Jazz history. Sit back and enjoy as you listen to everything from Swing, to the roots of Blues and Funk to Hard Bop. Cap it all off with a set of blues and you’ve got an evening of great music, stories, coffee and friends.
The first concert at a unique environment – the glass atrium called the ‘Fish Bowl’ of the Eastman Education Centre where you can enjoy your coffee and the wonders of Jazz at the same time.
The Matt Zimmerman & The Jasper County Line concert’s target audience is all the music students in the area, all ages. They believe that this is a great opportunity for students in weekly music lessons to see where practicing and collaborating can take them!
Music teachers are encouraged to bring their students as well. The Arts Council has created an initiative for teachers to bring their students to the show and talk with the artists directly. They believe that this is a learning experience and that the most important aspect is that students attend live performance. They will learn so much through this process and at the same time, enjoy a great concert, supporting local emerging young professionals – Lets develop our students together… the best field trip you can offer for a music student’s education!
