On November 26, 2010, at about 4:05pm, Powerview RCMP were informed of a hit and run accident in Fort Alexander, Manitoba, involving an 8-year-old student.

Investigation revealed that an 8-year old girl had exited her school bus and was crossing the roadway when she was struck by a van. RCMP report that the school bus warning lights were fully activated at the time of the accident, when a van drove past the school bus at a high rate of speed striking the student. Witnesses state that the van did not stop after colliding with the young person and drove away in a dangerous manner.

RCMP report that the 8-year-old victim was not seriously injured in the accident.

26-year-old Nathan Courchene of Fort Alexander, Manitoba, is wanted by the Powerview RCMP for dangerous driving and failing to remain at the scene of an accident.
