Keystone Agricultural Producers (KAP) in conjunction with Acklands-Grainger and major safety manufacturers will showcase the latest in farm safety at Farm Safety Expos to be held February 14 to 17 in rural Manitoba.

In addition to general safety protection, the trade shows will feature special products and safety specialists in Welding Safety, Respiratory Safety, Gas Detection, Spill Control, Hearing Safety, Fall Protection, Confined Space Safety, Safety Signs, Eye Safety and Hand Protection.

“We all have to assess safety on our farms and prevent incidents from occurring for the health and safety of everyone living and working with us,” said Rob Brunel, KAP President. “We’re pleased Acklands-Grainger and other safety providers have partnered with us to help improve the safety statistics for agriculture.”

“We’re proud to be part of this initiative to help reduce the number of workplace incidents that unfortunately do occur on farms across Manitoba,” said James Benic, Acklands-Grainger Regional Director.

Other industry safety providers at the Farm Safety Expos will include representatives from 3M, Accuform Signs, Air Systems International, Brady, Capital Safety, Ergodyne, Haws, Industrial Scientific, Justrite, MSA-the safety company, North by Honeywell, Pacesetter, Reelcraft, Safety Services Manitoba, and Sperian.

Farmers will have excellent resources at the trade shows to help make their farms safer this season and into the future.

“We know that WCB claims lead to higher WCB premiums and higher operating costs, so these expos can help farmers prevent incidents from occurring and control their WCB premiums at the same time,” said Doug Chorney, KAP Vice President and Workplace and Employment Committee Chair.

The expos will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the following locations:

• Winkler, Feb. 14 at the Heartland Inn
• Steinbach, Feb. 15 at the Brass Lantern
• Selkirk, Feb. 16 at the Recreation Centre
• Brandon, Feb. 17 at the Keystone Centre (Pioneer Lounge)

The expos are free to all farmers and farm employees. KAP encourages farmers to attend to learn more about farm safety and see the latest products and specials that will be available.
