RCMP have seized over $12,500 in cash after pulling over a minivan for a Highway Traffic Act violation near Ponton, Manitoba.
On January 27, 2011, at approximately 11:30pm, Wabowden RCMP stopped a southbound minivan approximately five kilometres North of Ponton, Manitoba on Highway 6 for a Highway Traffic Act violation.
Subsequent investigation by RCMP lead to the discovery and seizure of over $12,500 in cash.
A 33-year-old man from Winnipeg and a 36-year-old man from Sandy Bay FN are facing charges of laundering proceeds of crime.
Both accused have been released from custody and are scheduled to appear in Thompson Provincial Court on February 18, 2011.
Police continue to investigate.
