On May 25, 2009 Steinbach RCMP were informed that a woman was kidnapped by four males wielding knives in the City of Steinbach.
The woman was threatened and forced into a vehicle then driven to a rural area outside of Steinbach where she was repeatedly sexually assaulted by the males at knife-point.
RCMP have arrested one male early this morning in Winnipeg. The RCMP Major Crime Unit and the RCMP Forensic Identification Unit are assisting with the investigation.
The names of the victim and suspects are not being released at this time pending the outcome of the investigation.

Investigation reveals that this incident reported to the Steinbach RCMP is deemed a false allegation. Steinbach RCMP have now released the man without charges who was taken into custody early today. Steinbach RCMP are now investigating the incident as public mischief due to the false allegation.

The 20-year-old Steinbach woman who had reported this incident has been served release documents to attend Steinbach court on June 25th to face public mischief charges.
The investigation continues.
