On April 7, 2015, at approximately 3am, Blue Hills RCMP received a report that a vacant home located in the RM of Cornwallis was fully engulfed in fire. The scene of the fire was approximately 15 miles southeast of the City of Brandon.

Emergency fire services for Brandon were unable to save the vacant home which was completely destroyed by the fire. No one was injured in the fire and an estimate of the damages is not known at this time.
RCMP report that the fire is considered to be suspicious in nature and remains under investigation.
