In Steinbach, not all roads lead to prime commercial opportunities, but the newly paved Acres Drive and Industrial Road certainly do.

Included in the City of Steinbach’s 2009 Capital Projects was the paving of these two new streets in the city’s Industrial Park at a cost of $3.36 million.

Cari Penner, Chair of the Steinbach Community Development Corporation (SCDC), says, “This new infrastructure will facilitate economic development within the city and help attract new industries and businesses to our area. As well, favorable tax rates, reliable shipping and transportation access and proximity to several markets all combine to make us a strong choice for new manufacturing and processing opportunities. These are distinct advantages in today’s marketplace.”

The land in this area, owned by the SCDC, is zoned M-1 Light Industrial. Parcels of land fronting onto Acres Drive, Industrial Road East, and Industrial Road West are available, with the opportunity to subdivide the land to suit developers’ needs.

“Now is an excellent time for businesses looking to relocate or expand to come to Steinbach,” says Mayor Chris Goertzen. “Our city is growing rapidly in size and population; it’s great to see the opportunity for our business sector to grow as well.”
