On March 3rd, 2010, at about 10:30pm, Steinbach RCMP were informed by Steinbach Security that they just interrupted a large equipment theft and observed two suspects fleeing on foot across a field.
Steinbach RCMP responded immediately and followed the suspect’s tracks in the snow as Steinbach Security assisted in securing the area. Two suspects were eventually located hiding under a building and were subsequently arrested and taken into custody.
Investigation revealed that the suspects first stole a large truck and then entered Farm Yard Supply in Steinbach, Manitoba, where they stole a large flatbed trailer by hooking it up to the stolen truck. The suspects then attempted to load and steal a tractor and a snow blower.
Two suspects remain in custody as the investigation continues with charges and additional arrests pending.
