Pam Peters-Pries, new Executive Director of the Eastman Education Centre

The Board of Directors of the Eastman Education Centre is pleased to announce the appointment of Pam Peters-Pries as its new Executive Director.

The Eastman Education Centre provides space for educational providers like Red River College, University of Winnipeg, Campus Manitoba and Assiniboine Community College. Students from the southeast region enjoy economic and time benefits from having courses provided closer to home.

Chairman of the EEC Board, Clyde Loewen, said that the board is confident Peters-Pries will provide effective and energetic leadership as the education center grows and moves forward into the future.

Peters-Pries brings a wealth of experience and a strong academic background. She holds an MBA from the University of Manitoba, a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Saskatchewan, and a Bachelor of Theology from the Canadian Mennonite Bible College.

She has served as the Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministries for Mennonite Church Canada, as Pastor of Youth and Young Adults at Osler Mennonite Church, and as Stewardship Consultant with the Mennonite Foundation of Canada.

She has been the Chief Operating Officer, Executive Director – Support Services Mennonite Church Canada from 2001 to present.

“I’m excited to be part of the EEC’s mandate to ‘create opportunities through education’ and I look forward to working with the community and the educational partners to make those opportunities a reality. After many years of commuting to Winnipeg, I’m pleased to join such an important local organization,” Said Peters-Pries.

Peters-Pries, her husband Albert, and their sons Benjamin and Matthew live on a farm near Blumenort.

Peters-Pries will replace Reg Toews, former CEO of the South Eastman RHA, who has served the Eastman Education Centre with great competence, enthusiasm and vision since its inception. He has stepped down in order to devote more of his time to help plan the Mennonite World Conference in Paraguay this summer and to continue his other consulting work.
