Lacrosse is a fast paced, exciting game where physical fitness and true team work are imminent and necessary for success. In Steinbach they currently hold box lacrosse, which is played 5 on 5 plus goalies in the arena on a cement surface with referees over 3 periods.
During the 2008 season the South Eastman Crusaders Lacrosse Club ran lacrosse as a closed uncompetitive environment to teach new players the skills and rules of lacrosse before going into league competition in 2009.
In 2009 they plan to join the Red River Lacrosse Association and enter teams with ages that range from Novice (9 and 10 year olds), Pee Wee’s (11 and 12 year olds), and Bantams (13 and 14 year olds).
A lacrosse season runs from March when practices start up and then into games from April through June. The lacrosse season is usually finished prior to the July long weekend. There will be weekly practices. A season would see 6 or 7 home games and 6 or 7 away games.
They welcome participants from the entire South Eastman area to join and take part in this fantastic sport.
