At approximately 8:30am, December 31, 2008 Brandon RCMP members along with Brandon City Fire Department responded to a barn fire that occurred near Provincial Route 270 in the RM of Elton.
Between December 24th and 25th, 2008 in the RM of Elton at a farm located just off of Highway 25, unknown suspects broke into a garage and stole a three point black hitch blade and a Farm King three point hitch red rotary mower.
On December 30, 2008 at approximately 2:00pm, Portage la Prairie RCMP and Portage la Prairie Emergency Services responded to an apartment fire on Charlton Avenue.
Lynn Lake RCMP report that Lorna Dumas, who was reported missing on the 17th of December, 2008, was located and found to be deceased.
On December 24, 2008 at 12:45 p.m., Swan River RCMP were dispatched to a single vehicle roll-over collision that had occurred approximately 52 km’s north of Swan River on PTH #10.
In the afternoon of December 22nd, the Winnipegosis RCMP Detachment executed a search warrant at a residence in Camperville, 60 kilometres North of Winnipegosis.
The third week of the RCMP Christmas Checkstop program from December 15, 2008 to December 22, 2008 has resulted in numerous charges.
On November 29, 2008 at about 5:45 a.m., 25-year-old Charles Brightnose of Thompson was found assaulted outside a Thompson residence.
Lynn Lake RCMP received a report of a missing person on the 17th of December, 2008.
The Elphinstone RCMP Detachment is currently investigating several break and enters and thefts in the area.
