On December 6, 2012, following an investigation, Elphinstone RCMP with the assistance of Wasagaming, Shoal Lake and Hamiota RCMP, executed a Controlled Drug and Substance Act search warrant at a residence located in the town of Elphinstone.

Police officer charged with attempted fraud

On May 17, 2010, 39-year-old Houman Shoaai of Elphinstone was charged by the RCMP Yellowhead Detachment for attempted fraud over $5,000.
