Did you know that Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) is a general term that describes the range of disabilities that may affect a child if the child’s birth mother drank alcohol while she was pregnant.

Manitoba will double the capacity of a respected fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD) support program and expand FASD diagnostic capacity in northern and rural communities as part of new funding for its five-year FASD strategy.

Fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD) programming in Manitoba will receive $47,300 for new support services for families coping with the disorder, Healthy Living, Youth and Seniors Minister Jim Rondeau announced.

The province is investing more than $1.6 million to improve access to diagnostic services and expand resources for Manitobans living with fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD), Family Services and Housing Minister Gord Mackintosh announced.
