The Hydrologic Forecast Centre of Manitoba Infrastructure and Transportation has issued a high water advisory for Whiteshell lakes as recent rainfall and late spring run-off are combining to raise water levels.

Manitoba Water Stewardship officials have issued a high-water advisory for the southern Interlake and areas northeast of Winnipeg to Nopiming Provincial Park.

Manitoba Water Stewardship advises that a Colorado low weather system is forecast to cause strong northerly winds over southern Manitoba Thursday to Saturday, creating strong waves over southern portions of Lake Winnipeg and Lake Manitoba from late Thursday to Saturday morning.

Manitoba Water Stewardship’s Hydrologic Forecast Centre advises that rainfall of 75 to 90 millimetres (three to 3.5 inches) in eastern Manitoba last weekend has resulted in unusually-high lake levels in Whiteshell and Nopiming provincial parks.
