With the 2011 Census upon us, the City of Steinbach and the municipalities of La Broquerie, Ste. Anne, and Hanover strongly encourage all households to participate as the census numbers determine the amount of provincial and federal funding communities will receive.

RCMP Officers from the East District made numerous arrests and laid over 100 charges as part of a long-term investigation known as Project DEVELOP.

Although the 2011 Census date is still a couple months away, the City of Steinbach and the municipalities of La Broquerie, Ste. Anne and Hanover are already working together to promote participation in the Census.

On February 14, 2011, at around 11:50pm, Steinbach RCMP received a report of a suspicious vehicle in a parking lot near the Le Depanneur Store (Shell Station) in La Broquerie.

The executive vice-president and chief operating officer of La Broquerie, Manitoba based Hylife, says the initial response to the company’s new name has been positive.

The CEO of Hylife says the expanding use of U.S. corn to produce ethanol has shifted the feed cost advantage for producing swine from the United States to Canada.

On January 18, 2011, at approximately 9:20pm members of the Steinbach RCMP responded to a robbery at the Le Deanneur Shell Station in La Broquerie.

Shortly after 8am on January 6, 2010, Steinbach RCMP, members of the Winnipeg Drug Section, RCMP Emergency Response Team and the Office of the Fire Commissioner executed a search warrant at a residence in the La Broquerie area.

On January 3, 2011, Steinbach RCMP Detachment investigated multiple break and enters at various locations near Steinbach.

On November 20, 2010, at around 5:40am, members of the Steinbach RCMP attended to a house fire on Hazelwood Drive in the RM of La Broquerie.
