Agriculture Minister Gerry Ritz reaffirmed the Government of Canada’s commitment to the Canadian red meat sector in his keynote address at the Canadian Meat Council’s 90th Annual Conference.

The Government of Canada continues to support farmers and the meat packing and processing sector in Manitoba by helping open new markets for their products.

Developing short and long term strategies for addressing problems facing Canada’s red meat sectors have been identified by the three prairie farm groups as being among their top priorities.
