Virden and Russell RCMP have been investigating two separate incidents involving luring minors over the internet for sexual purposes. The suspect was reportedly luring young girls under the age of 16 via social networks on the internet.

On October 4, 2014, Russell RCMP arrested and charged, 20-year-old Blake David Dunn of Russell, Manitoba. Dunn is facing numerous charges including luring minors over the internet for sexual purposes. He was released on strict conditions and is set to appear in court on November 26, 2014, in Russell, Manitoba.

On October 9, 2014, Virden RCMP arrested and charged the same individual, Blake David Dunn, for luring minors over the internet for child pornography and possession of child pornography. He was released and is set to appear in court on October 31, 2014, in Virden, Manitoba.

“D” Division RCMP remind people of all ages to be very careful with the use of social networks. Parents should not hesitate to educate their children about the potential dangers of interacting online and monitor their children’s online activities regularly.
