Seasonal Class 1 Driver

Duties:

The successful candidate will report to the Manager of Works and Operations and will be responsible for the operation of all municipal equipment including: safe operation procedures, keeping daily logs, some equipment maintenance, water tanker operation, tractor operation, asphalt patching, sign repairs, etc.

This job requires you to be analytical and responsible. The position is based on 50 hours/week and generally runs to the end of October. This position may require you to interact with the public as we are performing a public service.

The position is slated to begin April 20th.

Qualifications:

• Class 1 with air break endorsement Manitoba Drivers’ License
• At least one year/season related experience in the operation of heavy equipment
• Ability to complete the necessary administrative documentation related to daily operations

Special:

• The ideal candidate will bring attention to safety as the number one concern
• Must be able to complete tasks on schedule without direct supervision
• The candidate must have the ability to perform or learn to perform minor maintenance, be physically capable of lifting heavy objects, operate equipment such as tractor loader, installation of signage, etc.
• This position will be located at the Public Works building in Kleefeld

Compensation:

The Rural Municipality of Hanover will provide a competitive wage to the successful applicant based on qualifications and experience. The wage range for this position is $26.73 to $31.45 per hour.
