Tools and Tool Rental Supervisor

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and organized Tools & Tool Rental Supervisor to oversee daily operations of our tools and tool rental department. This role is responsible for supervising staff, ensuring excellent customer service, managing rental inventory, and maintaining efficient operations at the service desk. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, knowledge of power tools and equipment, and a passion for delivering outstanding customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and support the Tools & Tool Rental team, including scheduling, training, and performance management.
• Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers with tool selection, rental procedures, and product inquiries.
• Manage tool rental inventory, ensuring equipment is properly maintained, inspected, and available for customers.
• Oversee rental transactions, including check-outs, returns, deposits, and damage assessments.
• Ensure all safety standards and operational procedures are followed.
• Coordinate routine maintenance and repairs for rental equipment.
• Resolve customer concerns or service issues promptly and professionally.
• Maintain accurate records of rentals, inventory, and service logs.
• Support store management with department goals, sales targets, and operational improvements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (post-secondary education or trade experience is an asset).
• 2+ years of retail, rental operations, or tools/equipment experience.
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of power tools, construction tools, and equipment.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with POS or rental management systems.
• Ability to lift and move tools/equipment as required.
