Store Greeters

Part‑Time Store Greeters – Retail Lumber & Building Materials

We’re looking for friendly, observant, and reliable Store Greeters to welcome customers and support a safe, organized environment. This role is a key part of our customer experience and plays an important part in safety awareness and theft‑prevention at the front entrance.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly as they enter and create a positive first impression
• Direct customers to the correct departments (lumber yard, service desk, etc.)
• Answer basic questions about store layout, services, and hours
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized entrance area
• Monitor customer flow and identify potential safety concerns (slippery floors, blocked walkways)
• Support loss‑prevention efforts by maintaining awareness of activity at the entrance and exit
• Observe and report suspicious behavior to management or sales staff (no confrontation required)
• Ensure carts are safely positioned and available for customer use
• Notify staff when customers require assistance
• Communicate clearly and courteously with all visitors.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Friendly, approachable, and customer‑focused attitude
• Good situational awareness and attention to detail
• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Comfortable in a busy retail environment
• Experience in retail, customer service, or loss‑prevention is an asset
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible part‑time hours
