Steinbach RCMP are reporting that a recent collision involving a vehicle and pedestrian has claimed the life of a 27-year-old man from the Rural Municipality of Hanover.

On August 30, 2025, at 6:15am, Steinbach RCMP received a report of a male walking in traffic on Provincial Road 311, in the RM of Ste Anne. As the officers were responding to the area, an update was received that the male had been struck by a vehicle.

RCMP arrived on scene and located a male victim, who was pronounced deceased on scene. The male victim was later identified as a 27-year-old male from the RM of Hanover. Members noted that no other injuries were reported as a result of this incident.

Police say that the driver of the vehicle, a 61-year-old male from Steinbach, remained at the scene.

Steinbach RCMP, along with assistance of the RCMP Criminal Collision Investigation Team and a Forensic Collision Reconstructionist, continue to investigate this incident.
