Travel Manitoba has launched a new campaign designed to reintroduce locals and visitors alike to Manitoba’s world-class and iconic experiences, while also helping increase business for tourism owners and operators after a challenging wildfire season. The campaign helps direct visitors to communities and businesses that are open and ready to welcome them this fall.
With the theme, “Travel with your heart in the right place”, the campaign showcases Manitoba’s iconic landscapes, stunning places to stay and unique local operators – inviting visitors to reconnect with their favourite places and uncover new adventures across the province.
The campaign highlights Whiteshell Provincial Park, northern Manitoba and a variety of open accommodations and attractions, encouraging visitors to explore responsibly and support local communities. It features road trip itineraries, travel deals and planning resources, and will be promoted through digital, print, radio and cinema ads from September to November, targeting key markets including Manitobans, Canadians and international travelers.
“Tourism is an important economic driver in Manitoba,” said Colin Ferguson, President and CEO of Travel Manitoba. “Our campaign aims to showcase the regions and operators who are ready to welcome guests, ensuring Manitoba remains top-of-mind as a destination of choice for travelers and giving them the confidence and tools to plan their next trip here.”
Tourism supports over 25,000 jobs across the province and generates approximately $1.82 billion in visitor spending, resulting in over $373 million in annual provincial tax revenues.
“Travel is also about connection with people, with places and with the heart,” said Ferguson. “This campaign is designed to inspire travelers to plan their next Manitoba adventure by highlighting the breadth of what our province offers, from boreal forests and freshwater lakes to unique accommodations and relaxing experiences, we’re welcoming travelers everywhere to come and see what Manitoba has to offer.”
For operators, the campaign provides an opportunity to show they are ready and eager to welcome visitors back to Manitoba.
“The wildfires were challenging for our region and we lost bookings during the peak travel season. Since then, we’ve been able to open and continue to welcome guests,” said Caleigh Christie, owner and operator of Falcon Trails Resort in the Whiteshell. “When people choose to travel here, they aren’t just booking a getaway, they’re supporting small businesses like ours and keeping our communities strong.”
“Northern Manitoba is a special place for wilderness travel and closing our lodge due to wildfire risk was heartbreaking. We’re welcoming guests back, sharing the beauty of our lakes and forests with the world,” said Pit Turenne, co-owner of Aikens Lake Wilderness Lodge, adding that visitors are booking for fall and reserving their spots for 2026. “Tourism is our livelihood and the support of visitors means everything. Seeing guests return helps us and many other operators after a challenging summer season.”
Also helping to raise Manitoba’s profile is a new podcast – Been There, Never Done That – featuring stories behind Manitobans’ favourite tourism experiences throughout the province.
