Manitoba RCMP Traffic Services are reporting that a 27-year-old Grand Rapids woman was recently arrested and charged resulting from a public complaint of erratic driving in the Rural Municipality (RM) of Coldwell.

On April 18, 2026, at 3:53pm, Manitoba RCMP Traffic Services responded to a complaint of an erratic driver on Highway 6 in the RM of Coldwell. At the time, three units were already on Highway 6 conducting traffic enforcement and came across the suspect vehicle.

Police say that the vehicle was pulled over on Highway 6 in the RM of Rosser and had three intoxicated occupants. Officers noted that the occupants were travelling south to Winnipeg for an event and had been drinking in the vehicle.

RCMP report that the driver, a 27-year-old female from Grand Rapids, was arrested for impaired driving and provided breath samples which were 2.5 times over the legal limit. Along with having the vehicle impounded and having her driver’s licence suspended, the woman was charged with impaired driving over 80 mg% and was served with three provincial offence notices, including driving while disqualified ($672 fine), driving carelessly ($672 fine), and carrying liquor in a vehicle ($237 fine).

Members noted that the passengers, a 29-year-old male and a 45-year-old female, also from Grand Rapids, were released without charges.
